Old lampshades lamp (Oude lampenkapjes lamp) The old lampshades lamp is inspired by Jeanine’s habit of collecting. She has collections of almost everything, including lampshades. When we visited Leo Coolen’s warehouses (of sprookjes.eu) and saw his collection of lampshades, we encountered the superlative level of collecting. I wanted to use the shades, preferably the least special, to make a new lamp. Collecting means organising and ranking, so lots of these shades had to be combined in a large object: a chandelier. A large globe formed from lots of smaller ones seemed like a good idea.
